The Heartland of America, the Midwest. There are many terms to describe the geographical location that runs generally from Illinois east through Pennsylvania, THE RUSTBELT.
This post is a showcase of artists who live in the heart of the "BELT", The Mahoning Valley centered in Youngstown,Ohio.
Their work ranges through all mediums and brings a vitality and spirit to the Youngstown,OH/Mahoning Valley that is spurring the growth and Renaissance of the area. In my humble opinion it is these artists who are changing a once negative adjective(rustbelt) into a positive description of this Valley.
These artists harness a working class mentality with the creative skills found in any larger "Art" community in America. It is merely a matter of time before a much larger audience recognizes this shining stone made of passion, grit and tenacity, polished by their love for their hometown and their work.
